Cleveland Dam, North Vancouver, BC
On a cool day in October, and with family living all across the world S + A decided to have a small intimate ceremony with their close friends who lived nearby. The catch, they didn't tell them they were getting married! After inviting them to the park to celebrate his plan to propose their guests arrived to find them dressed in wedding attire, with photographers (us!) and officiant ready to go. First giving everyone a moment to get over their shock and dry a couple tears they then welcomed everyone to their *surprise* wedding! After their sweet vows and exchanging rings they signed the marriage license on a park bench, popped some bubbly and headed off for dinner with their people. The friends now sworn to secrecy for the next few months while they travelled to visit and tell family across the world that they were married.
This day was an absolute highlight of 2021 for us, and seeing their friends reactions had us smiling for hours. This was such an amazing and creative way to celebrate in the light of COVID and provincial and international health restrictions. To more surprise weddings in 2022 please!
